Round Synopsis
It was mainly a battle between EA and LDK VS Invictus. The battle was decided very fast because Invictus outnumbered the other 2 by far. The round lasted very long and in the end Invictus had all top 10 spots in comscore.
- Info from Norg:
Invictus-powerblock
Hmm..i don´t remember the beginning...
At the start there were some smaller alliances but after a while one alliance became a real powerblock: [Invictus].
9 Top10-coms belonged to them and there was no real enemy. I think [EA] was fighting us. The only thing i can still remember is my personal hunt for "Dain". Dain was one of the last big non-Invictus-players. He permanently attacked the smaller coms of us. So I started hunting him: Every night I miliscanned him and sent defense to his victims and every night he saw my defense and recalled his fleets. But after 3 weeks he attacked a personal friend of mine and my fleet defended against him...but this time he overslept and his fleets got crushed. After that he called himself not Dain but "I hate my alarmclock". This was not an important victory or someting but it was really fun hunting him.
Invictus clearly won this round, but they had severe inner problems mainly caused by, hard to say, my com (there was a problem with a com of friends who had a Nap and Invictus wanted to break that nap and my com said that we would leave Invictus if they attack them..blablabla...).
Because of this inner problems there was a really bad mood in the alliance and Invictus never appeared again since now.....
- Info from Prince:
I (Prince) came in with Dragon Riders about tick 600, which didn't had a big impact on the game. Main force against invictus was nato 2002 or something like that, didnt stand a chance invictus owned whole round easy...
- Info from MKoR:
As this was my first full round and still an inactive noob, I wasn't really aware of much that went on...
I heard from the alliance that LDK belonged to the big block in the beginning, but got backstabbed a little ways into the round. Not even everyone together was able to properly hurt the top3 Invictus comms. Massive amounts of defense were the rule there...
Effects on Future Rounds
Gunslinger, who was admin back then, played for the winning alliance, Invictus. Many people criticized this fact so the admins decided to stay out of the game in the future, causing them to quickly lose interest in the game and finally abandon it in a later round.
When the battle for the top10 was over, smaller alliances had to keep fighting to survive the bog terror from the bigger alliances. Those days, it was even fighting to keep your com in the top100. TKO was falling apart since their HC's didn't agree with eachother. First Boltblue left because of Avenger, then Scorpio left for the same reason and 1 round later TKO was dead and disbanded.
This was also the first round where not only the humans, but also Demons and Dwarfs were playable races.
